Lesson 294 My body is a wholly neutral thing.

Why is God’s plan for us to awaken from all dreams? He knows something we have forgotten: that His/Her/its love for us is limitless. Many of our stories about God are dramatic and romantic. The Course is inviting us to a God we are afraid of. It is because we know so much about drama &
romance but so little about mature love, a love based in reality. The reality of mature love is changeless not capricious , non judgmental, inclusive, expanding as it is shared and willing to use everything to express itself, even the body.

As we “keep its usefulness while it can serve, and then to be replaced for greater good” we se a love that uses the body but is not based on the body. Our children are becoming more and more aware of this, it’s even true for some parents and grandparents. But the truth is that many of the older generations struggle with this as we were taught ‘we are bodies’.

Peace,
Jim

  1. John says:

Keeping the body’s usefulness so that it can be used as a tool to serve is the true purpose for diet and exercise. However, I have noticed that the gyms are full of people motivated by vanity (a belief that they are their body) — afraid of letting go, or seeking a certain physique (form).
