This is more of a promise to us at this point. If we are accepting/remembering the Atonement, this lesson is obvious.
But in our chaos it’s a challenge and well worth considering. When we are off the mark and upset it isn’t unusual to defend our misery. Defenses like rationalizing are easier than making the change of accepting correction. That’s what ‘time out’ was for us when we were children. If we would take the time out as adults we would have a chance to come back to reality. That natural state is peaceful. The atonement is a natural correction because it’s remembering a natural state.
So taking a moment for yourself is the practice we are looking for. And in that moment slow the mind down and rest on the experience of being OK.
